How do you make your soap?
How do you make your soap?
We use the cold-process method of soap making, using all natural oils & butters to create our wonderfully moisturizing bars of soap! Cold-process soap making uses a chemical process of mixing oils & butters with an alkali (Sodium Hydroxide). This chemical process is known as saponification. During saponification an exothermic reaction happens which transforms the components of the oils & butters into soap. Using the cold process to create soap leaves behind naturally occurring glycerin; a gentle ingredient formed in the soap making process that helps moisturize skin. We use essential oils, fragrance oils, natural botanicals & clays, along with skin safe colorants in our soaps. We believe in using high quality raw ingredients in all of our recipes!

Some of your products changing color; are they still okay to use?
Some of your products changing color; are they still okay to use?
Yes! If you notice your product is changing color, make sure to use that one next! We use a variety of natural ingredients that can cause color variations. One of the biggest culprits of color changing over time is sunlight, which fades products colors. Another reason some products colors change over time is vanillin, which is the compound in vanilla that gives the sweet aroma we all know and love. Although we do not use many fragrances containing vanillin, some products may morph color or turn brown over time. Don't worry; this is a natural process & does not affect the way the product performs. No replacements will be made due to discoloration of products.

How can I make my soap last longer?
How can I make my soap last longer?
One of the best ways to make your soap or shampoo/conditioner bars last longer is by keeping them out of direct water contact and use a good draining soap dish. Some people like to cut their cold process soap bars in half and only put one of the halves in the shower at a time. We also sell handmade crochet soap pouches for a full bar or all those little pieces you have piling up.
